Fountainpen

Years ago when I was a student, I had my eyes set on a beautiful fountainpen. With little collegefunds I started saving up a few pounds a week. A matt black Waterman fountainpen. For me, a huge amount of money, just for a pen. Just before writing my thesis I finally had enough money. It was at the time when an essay or thesis was still handwritten. And I had to pay someone to type it over, on a typewriter. But it was all written with this fountainpen. I thought I lost it, untill it suddenly reappeared a few months ago. Twenty years old, and in need of some repair. After some research on the internet I discovered that I owned a Waterman Maestro which was out of production a long time ago. But a little Penshop in Nijmegen in the Netherlands had just the part I needed. It's just a treat to write with this pen, it's nothing like a ballpoint, nothing like it at all!

What a beautiful stamp!

Today I received a postcard from Prague in the Czech republic. What a beautiful stamp! The card was nice, but honesty tells me that I do like the stamp more than the postcard........ ;-)
Why haven't we got such beautiful stamps over here.....

Lots of stamps!

Today I received a postcard with lots of stamps on it! This is my first postcard from Marieke, whom I have yet to meet. We decided to send postcards to each other which should be a bit challenging for the mailman. A fun little project! In this case, the mailman decided to put his postmark on every single stamp. Well done mailman! Thumbs up for delivering this card!

Embroidery on postcard

Sometimes I find myself pinching some holes in a postcard. I collect old pictures from magazines, cut them out and sometimes I find a nice pattern on a piece of paper. And after some glue and thread i'm embroidering those holes. Et voilá, a postcard.
I sent this one to someone in Edinburgh, but it hasn't arrived yet. Fingers crossed.
