Mail from Marieke

Isn't this such a sweet envelope from Marieke? It took the mailman a while to deliver, but when he did, it brought a bit of sunshine to my mailbox in this grey winter weather.

Inside such a sweet card and two small cards. So nice, really cool! Mail from Marieke is always really cheerful and really cheers my up. Really happy mail does really make your day seem brighter!

Mail from Zalifa, the snailmail collective

This beautiful package arrived from Zalifa.
We were matched in the snailmail collective in November. We were emailing a bit to one another to get to know each other. Zalifa works in accounting in Singapore and is a real busy body. She also loves organising events. Well, she definately organised this beautiful package well! I would book her for my party if I lived in Singapore! I can't show yet what I have sent her, since she's away backpacking in Japan at the moment, but when she returns and hopefully finds my package, I'll post what I have sent her.

On the package, that was beautifully wrapped by the way (triple points for that!), were these really beautiful stamps. When you turn them to the light, the water cider on it started shining! pretty cool!

Inside the package was this shiny black box. This was making me really curious!

When I've opened the package there was a card folded on top with a note from Zalifa.

Underneath the card, it was all pure beauty what came out.

Check this all out! Two stacks of cards, a card and a bag full of wonderful craftstuff!

The first pack of cards is a game called Snap. We have something similar over here called Halli Galli. The prints on the cards are full of vintage cuteness! I can't decide if I'm going to use it to play games with the kids, or use it for snailmail. Think I'm going to go for playing with the kids. How great would that be, that in a few years I'll still be playing a card game that Zalifa has sent me.

The other deck of cards are city views of Singapore. I was totally off by thinking Singapore was the capital of Malaysia. Zalifa and Wikipedia set me straight right a way. Thought I was really good at geometry, but maybe I missed that class. Well, now I can see all of Singapore in this really lovely tin full of cards!

Inside the plastic bag full of craft stuff, all this came out! Love love! Like like! I'm totally into ribbons, applications and crafty stuff! Shiny gold beads and shiny gold flowers, so tacky that I really like them! And a cute telephone sticky note pad, some purple (leather?) lace and a pink lace application, and tiny clothes pegs on a rope. All so cute! Cuteness galore!

I could even make a bunch of flowers with all this, just by holding it all together!

Leuke post 3

This mail came from leuke Post! It's the third one from a series of 5 mails. I love these stamps from Leuke Post! They are so colourful! On the postagestamp I think the postman tried to make a drawing, well, keep practising postman!

Yep number 3!

Inside a vintage kitschy style postcard, a bag full of glitter and three small wrapped parcels.

This is what was inside the little parcels, a really cute button! Four small fabric roses, and four buttons with a little vintage paper still on it!

All the glitter made it a really colourful package! Shame my phone can't catch the light which was reflected on the glitter.

On the back of the envelope some really cool washi tape from the Hema! In postagestamps style. Unfortunately our nearest store didn't have it over here. But maybe that's better for my wallet, since I would definitely have bought it!

Superhero mail

Check out this really cool and funky superhero mail Marloes (Tante tee) has sent me! She was in the process of making it, but didn't know who to send it when she mentioned it on a Facebook page. I replied that I found it a brilliant theme as I was wearing my Superman tshirt at that time and she sent it to me!

Inside the envie two small packages, this was all wrapped together nicely, it made me quite curious what was all inside!
I just have a soft spot for vintage style, and this was all in a kinda vintage comic style. Super colourful and full of humor! This is wat was all inside! A superhero mask, a do it yourself superhero, some tags, a card, a doorhanger, some partyflags, some comic tags, stickers and a superhero bracelet!
Coincidental was, when I received the package I was wearing my Superman tshirt! And with this bracelet my outfit was completed! Aren't we all really superhero's?
My son also had a great time with this mail! The superhero mask is making overtime and the "POW" tags are being used for playing superhero! This was such a fun mail!

Superman mail

My friend Marieke needed some cheering up. I've found this really cool Superman tshirt! Perfect for sending off! Well, let's be honest, we all need a Superman in our lives (I got a tshirt for myself aswell). She and her grey cat were moving house, so I've found a card with a grey cat and some playing cards with Dikkie Dik (a character from a children's book).
She told me she wanted a tattoo from a peacock. I had this bead and this small card. Totally coincidental I found this all together and made me think of Marieke. This had to go inside the tshirt package!
So tshirt packages make great postal packages!

Mail from Leia (the snailmail collective september)

The package from Leia arrived at the same day as Michelle's package. Leia's envelope was just stuffed to the max! I got really excited to open it. But unfortunately I was on my way to an eveningshift and had to wait. I felt like a kid on its birthday! The excitement of waiting! So I waited untill the next morning, my daughter of to school, my son with a flu on the couch, cup of coffee in front of me and sat down to carefully open Leia's and Michelle's package.
Leia's package turned out to be a feast in an envelope. Check out this beautiful wrapping with a card on top with the first letter of my name. Amazing! Loved it already!
My heart skipped a beat when onfolding the white tissue paper. How spoiled am I! I think I might have blushed a little. And how fun this all is! Colourful and fun! Scented colouring pencils, craft ribbon, washi tape, two postcards from Nashville and Tennessee, a card with a F, M&M's with pretzel flavour and a booklet with notecards. Wow! I think it's as diverse and colourful as Leia is! Check out her adventurous life over at her blog. She and her husband have traveled all over the world (kinda jealous) and have seen such beautiful places I can only dream of! She even got married in Costa Rica (beautiful pictures on her blog!). I always dream of getting married in Italy, but funds are lacking for that dream unfortunately. But then again, if you really love someone it doesn't matter where you get married. Or in our case, if you really love someone, you forget to get married........ Well, it's about love and that's the most important bit. Anyway I'm drifting off. After a quite moment admiring what was in front of me, I started to examine it all more closely. How cool is that ribbon! Love ribbon! You can do so many things with ribbon, tie it around a present, use it to decorate something (on a cover of my notebooks is my favourite, I often use ribbon as a frame for a nice picture), tie labels to something or sew it to something! This collection of ribbon is so diverse I can use it for different things. Now I am blogging this, I remember Leia asking what my favourite colour was, well turquoise! And the package had turquoise ribbon around it, and the ribbons are in turquoise and matching colours! Wow! After admiring everything I had to make way for the builder who was coming to make some new back doors for our house. At his coffee break we tried out the pretzel M&M's. My son thought they were a fun taste! The builder preferred a biscuit though after trying one. It's a different taste, first you taste chocolate, and then suddenly an salty/chocolate explosion! What a different taste! We don't have M&M's like that over here. Thanks Leia for letting us have a new taste!
What an amazing set of notecards! Sort of vintage style cards, and they are all different! Printed on front and back! Really spot on! Like like like! They are actually made for photoalbums with clear plastic pages, but I have never seen them over here before. Wow! Love them!
Also something I have never seen before, scented colouring pencils! And check out the lovely bright colours! How great these are! And they really are scented! The package smelled really sweet while unpacking. How cool would this be, colouring with a banana scented pencil, or a strawberry scented pink pencil! And hell yes! I'll still like to colour! Luckily my daughter was off to school, she would certainly have giving me a hard time when she had seen them! But for now, I am going to use them for myself. Wondering if I can make scented drawings.
And washi tape! What's not to like about washi tape! I LOVE washi tape! You can decorate almost everything with washi tape! Thank you so much Leia for spoiling me! Certainly going to join another Snailmail collective! How wonderful it is to meet new amazing people from around the world!

Traditional costume snailmail

I really wanted to make a colourful snailmail for Bianca. I had this book lying around about Dutch traditional costume. I had already started cutting in it, so I could use all the pictures I wanted! I just love the bright colours and patterns. How amazing are they! After selecting some colourful pictures (costumes from all different regions of the Netherlands), I found some colourful paper to match. I had some clear plastic packaging lying around that I found such a waste to throw away. I had some matching craftmaterial lying around to go in the packaging. Well, that's how it all came together. I had already made a card with waving women some time ago that fitted in the theme..  But then I suddenly realised it looked like a sort of shopping display this way. Way to neat for my liking....

Lace, tiny lace flowers, colourful fake gemstones, buttons, a big lace flower, blue sewing thread, paper flags and confetti, blue post-it notes and an envelope with bathfoam. I found some really cool and colourful wrapping paper hanging around and made 7 bags out of it! Thought it would be really cool to sticker the bags with numbers, for each day of the week one bag. So you can have mail for a whole week! A "how to use it" I've wrote on the back of the card. And ofcourse a long letter in a matching envelope. Cause mail without a letter, isn't real snailmail! The outside envelope I've decorated in the same colourful style. The only thing left now, is hoping that Bianca is going to like it!
